  1. @War_Kittens man go, yes, of fucking course. because men are disposable.

and i mean every word of it.

i, however, would only go if my own god of choice at the time would have said yes.

(and again with every word, i now also mean i just decided today to literally develop an easier way to communicate with my favourite god... #ahoxus).

telling everyone i know, to me, gives me every safety i need, anyway. plus more ways to confirm the present moment.

look, every day i get in my car, i trust hundreds of people i don't know for even a single day, and more than that, the process of the system. one of the many gods around.

but i also take care of every moment while inside the car.

the only difference with the private jet to the ocean: getting out of it safely and surviving afterwards by having to wait or walk from a much more distant point in the globe, will be much more challenging.

but i honestly never went through either and my chances of survival in both situations would probably rely on finding help much sooner than later. #harmonicchaos

so i just really need to connect with myself, as i already implied, and ask "will i ever regret saying no?". when in doubt, it means yes.
  2. CW: #braindumb probably a senseless #rant
@captainepoch i hate signal. almost as much as matrix.

they both move tremendous amounts of energy in the world (like google) by offering awesome engineering and ux work... but they all fail to deliver whatever i personally need in practice, which includes some basic stuff all based on #freedom concepts, such as #fsf and automated #backup (always with some amount of #harmonicchaos of course)

but at least matrix doesn't play with the privacy card (it just plays with becoming useless for #mobileonly).

i would say i couldn't care less what happens to signal, but i actually care and hope it dies. for very different reasons from belgium, though! 🤣
  3. CW: #selfnote #verbose #privacy you got warned
when i start brain hemorrhage like this, i never know where i will end.

this time, i didn't know even where to begin!

i started #ahoxus in 2019, in a sense, as a continued work on my feelings towards #freedom.

back in 2004 i got shocked by the existence of #wikipedia, and could never stop looking at open source software ever since.

but much before that, i always remember as a kid (born 1981 here) of how much i loved those books that showed how everything works, from castles, to big cruise ships, and the human body, by simply showing drawings with everything opened up and detailed explanations of all small pieces.

very much like tim do on #waitbutwhy.

i talk a lot about computers, and often forget the other aspects of freedom, because i use computers since very little. perhaps 5 years old.

nowadays, i kind of throw all these feelings together when i bring up #agpl and #fupl. and even my concerns with #transparency or #harmonicchaos.

in the end, just my completely unpaid work (~trying~) to make the world better for me first, and then for everyone who might want to tag along.

but #whocares? certainly paul mccartney never could care enough to get in touch! 🤣
