I miss my motorcycle. I had to leave it at my brother's place up north back in February due to a problem with the trailer.
Apparently he has been riding it since his is broken. At least it is getting some exercise!

My love for Deadwood, SD, #harleydavidson #motorcycle and little kids looking at bikes has collided.
I will always take time to allow little people to dream.
I was that little boy who loved motorcycles and stuff, when someone did something to bring me closer, I would be awe struck.
Today when I ride, I love seeing kids looking at bikes, for escape, to dream, to feel something different and I believe a lot of bikers feel the same.
Glad H-D is capturing this and putting it on display as it’s one of the legacies the Motor Company imprints on our roads.
I have never lost this feeling and hope I never do.

No Sturgis, no ride this weekend.
Steering Damper parts ordered and expected maybe the first weekend in August, maybe.
2 nuts (one of which is proprietary) and a rubber bushing….
This is the real issue #harleydavidson has, not bikes, parts and service. 2 weeks for an oil change, weeks for service, months for repairs….
It’s nuts when the answer is to “buy one of these new bikes” not here are the parts you need.

Update! After many additional attempts to use the supplied hardware, I went to the shop and they sold me 2 new bolts, either should solve my issue.
Doubt I get it on today but tomorrow morning may involve getting this engine guard on -

I have tried and tried and no way the washer sent works with the bracket and engine guard.
I have it mounted but the thing will not thread into the nut…
Going to try again tomorrow morning without the washer. The bolt threads into the guard so maybe no washer or thinner washer.

Got back to it. Slow starting now that the sun dipped down over the house.
Decided to start with the plugs that I have to remove for the lower bolts. They put those things in good, that and 7k miles of grim…
If you need to get plugs out of your frame/foot controls, use a pick to loosen the grim, lube it up, pop the cap off the base and push it through the back. Check if it’s got an open back, if not, pliers and wiggle, lube as needed.
Oh and don’t stick yourself with the pick, it will bleed like heck 😂

Went to go install my new engine guard on my Trike and have spent 2 hours trying to figure out how this bracket bolts on.
No clear instructions, no pictures, no YouTube videos.
Finally figured it out but now I need more tools, new loctite and an hour of extreme patience.
The patience is for the ability to not scream obscenities for the hour it takes to torque it all down after figuring out this puzzle.
All for a stupid bracket that is required for my trike. A tool and parts list would have been helpful….
Grrrrr
Now 2 hours in the car to get the shit I need to do the 20 minute install…
