  4. 💡 Some people chase profits. Others build magic.

I love projects like this one:
    👉 lnkd.in/dx2rU3un

It turns your MacBook trackpad into a digital scale.
No special hardware. No ads. No paywall. Just… curiosity turned into code.

It hijacks the Force Touch sensors, calibrates raw pressure data, and gives you surprisingly accurate weight readings—all with your finger and a clever hack.

This is what I wish more tech looked like:
    🧠 smart
    🧰 simple
    💸 not for sale

While others gatekeep innovation behind SDKs and subscriptions, this project goes:
    here’s how it works, enjoy.
Open Source with purpose, not polish for profit.

    It’s niche, odd, and brilliant.
And that’s exactly why it matters.

To everyone trying to monetise every byte:
You’re missing the joy. You’re missing the point.

    To TrackWeight:
    You nailed it.
    Hacky, educational, experimental.
No evil. No upsell. Just exploration.
    Thumbs up.

  9. Well, this is rather fascinating! Some mad genius hacked a Nokia Lumia 1020 to run #Apple’s #iOS for #iPhone. The trick? Inside the Lumia is an iPhone SE 3!! Still pretty damned cool, if I do say so myself. #retrocomputing #hardwarehacks #tech macworld.com/article/2611931/s

  10. 🔧✨ Small-Batch Production: Still Alive and Thriving! ✨🔧

Think small-batch manufacturing is dead? Merad proved otherwise at @hackaday Supercon! His rail mod for aluminum enclosures is flexible and affordable, perfect for tight budgets. Plus, silicone keypads and laser-cut wood veneers make 3D prints look classy!

Small-scale electronics are possible with some clever tricks. Stay inspired and keep building! youtube.com/watch?v=qFbdnSWPl_

  13. If you’ve got yourself an OG #Apple #iMac G3 and can't work on it because the internal sub-frame is falling apart, there is a fix on the way! I'm more of a PowerBook guy, but I'm dealing with some brittle plastics as well, but I feel for my G3 peeps. Check out Seth's video as he saves a machine from certain death with a pre-production replacement part. #retrocomputing #computerRepair #hardwarehacks youtube.com/watch?v=yWOSkVL-0A

  16. This is attempt #4 for DIY eye tracking in the vive pro 2

It... Works but I'm going for a revision 6 to maybe move all the LEDs behind the shroud.

Yes I skipped 5 because it was worse.

In VR I can use single eye tracking reliably but dual eye leads to so many crossed eye moments.

  17. Thinking over modding my ~1998 Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Force Feedback Steering wheel. Back in the day (~10 years ago) someone showed how to make it go up to around 900 degrees. (See below why only 900)

Problem is that there is from what I can tell, 7 sets of wires that go to buttons inside the wheel, like face buttons, and at 900 degrees you're putting a ton of stress on them.

So I'm reaching out into the world and asking all of you: How would you solve this?

  18. I will pay someone to wire two Logitech Trackman Marbles together into a giant PS2 controller so I can finish Katamari Damacy without hurting myself
