And the server itself is an ancient DDR3 platform with 3 2080 ti GPUs in it!

So, I stumbled upon the fact that Hermes Agent has an OpenAI endpoint API. This allowed me to directly substitute Hermes in as my Home Assistant LLM. Now they interact seamlessly. Now my Home has a "brain". Uh oh. 🤣

An update on my triple 2080ti on DDR3 local solar powered AI server. It's impressive for its age and the fact that I built it for $700 plus a bunch of old crap. Combined forces of older hardware works!
I've got Hermes Agent running, the LLM is Qwen3.6-35B. Hermes has *read-only* access to my Google Workspace (for good reason!).
The LLM can push 550w+ across the 3x 2080ti GPUs. 33GB of VRAM allows big model and big context - Home Assistant works so nicely with a big LLM.
I want to drop in a Xeon E5-1680 v2 CPU, but that's about it for hardware.

The next talk was about flashing a £6 USB #LTE Modem to run a custom Linux install (using #OpenStick) that could function as a keyboard injector and USB "webcam" to send remote video.
Oh, and it also plays #Doom.... controlled remotely via LTE !

I Got reminded on a mod I wanted to do for the Roland D-110.
It would consist of a mod board that sits between the The PCM ROMs and the main board that let's you dump and reload their contents, which would mean you could finally swap PCM samples in the synth engine (a feature missing for 40 years)
It'd be a lot of effort and involve some serious firmware reverse engineering if I wanted to pull it off so more than just me would need to be interested in the final result.

Each #MeshNetworking radio test cycle requires rebuilding and uploading separate #ESP32S3 firmware images 4 each #TBeamSupreme, because each unit has different blocker rules to simulate network topology.
Moving the compile step from my older Intel workstation to a Ryzen 7950 box cuts roughly 8–9 minutes from each iteration. That adds up fast when testing, retesting, and chasing radio anomalies.
