-poesía: Guardé el anochecer en el cajón de #HanKang (creo que se pierde mucho en la traducción entre estos idiomas), La luz de la dinamo de #NuriaBarrios (la mitad no me llegó y la otra me destrozó), y Poesía completa de #GataCattana (ojalá haberla leído hace 10-12 años, me habría flipado).
-narrativa: #Catábasis fue todo lo que quería y más y #OjaláNuncaLoLeas fue más infantil de lo que esperaba, la traducción no ayudó. -

"Non dico addio" di Han Kang, 256 pagine, Adelphi, edizione 2024.Innanzitutto #LaVegetariana mi era piaciuto molto di più.
La 1ª parte di #NonDicoAddio mi ha conquistato.
La 2ª è appesantita da un eccesso di dettagli a riferimenti storici coreani.
Resta comunque un buon libro. -

I got hold of a copy of "The Vegetarian" and finished it this afternoon.
On one level, this novel - or is it a trilogy of linked novellas? - is a critique in fiction of the repression of women in socially conservative South Korea.
Yet "The Vegetarian" is much more than that, questioning as it does our distinctions between sanity and madness, care and cruelty, and humanity and nature.
More disturbing for me than all the body horror aspects of the book was the suggestion that a supreme moment of creative expression might be inextricably bound up with cruelty, exploitation, and betrayal.
At just under two hundred pages, this is not a long read. Thanks to @isa for your recommendation!

Sadly, a missed opportunity for the international visibility of the session and its hero: talks appear to be in #Korean with just the first lines of the abstract in #English shown on the screen. That's quite reductive, I can only suppose. And I have read the abstracts already.
