Popularny komunikator Discord otrzymał aktualizację, która wprowadza długo wyczekiwaną przez użytkowników Apple funkcję Handoff.

Nowość znacząco usprawnia korzystanie z aplikacji na wielu urządzeniach, takich jak iPhone, iPad i Mac, czyniąc przełączanie się między nimi płynniejszym niż kiedykolwiek wcześniej.

W praktyce obsługa Handoff oznacza, że jeśli użytkownik przegląda dany kanał na Discordzie na jednym urządzeniu, na przykład na Macu, a następnie sięgnie po iPhone’a, ikona aplikacji pojawi się w przełączniku aplikacji. Dotknięcie jej natychmiast przeniesie go do tego samego kanału, który był otwarty na komputerze. Analogicznie funkcja działa w przypadku iPada i Maca, gdzie ikona Discorda pojawi się w Docku.

Nowa funkcja eliminuje konieczność ręcznego otwierania aplikacji i nawigowania do ostatnio przeglądanego serwera oraz kanału przy zmianie urządzenia. To niewielka, ale istotna zmiana, która wpisuje się w filozofię ekosystemu Apple, gdzie wszystkie urządzenia mają ze sobą płynnie współpracować, zapewniając nieprzerwane doświadczenie użytkownika.

Wsparcie dla Handoff jest dostępne w najnowszej wersji aplikacji Discord, oznaczonej numerem 293.0. Aktualizacja została udostępniona w poniedziałek i jest już możliwa do pobrania dla wszystkich użytkowników za pośrednictwem App Store.

So with #iOS 17, #Apple has apparently expanded the #Handoff feature to the phone app, meaning now when my 82-year-old mom wants to answer a call and switch it to speakerphone, she is presented with a list of every #HomePod in the house along with “Speaker.”

How do I turn this oh-so-handy feature OFF? Turning off AirPlay and Handoff doesn’t work. Disabling “Allow calls on other devices” doesn’t work.

Just noticed that @ivory does Handoff behind the scenes with Safari on my iCloud connected laptop.

Hadn’t really noticed the Handoff icon coming and going, but it pops for each tapped message, profile expand, profile picture tap, etc.
