It took me way too many years to learn to play and experiment with my work, instead of doing what I know or what I thought was expected of me. But I always told students that artists are like mad scientists, and I have to live that more.
In that spirit I'm spending the last days of the year playing with paper pulp (and poetry), and getting a new version of this project off the ground. I'm thinking about making boxed sets?

We visited a 13th century paper mill in a town in #France that at one point had 13 mills. This worker there was nice enough to give us a tour, but the other mill, that is actually also as a museum, was already closed for the winter.

@Axiom @fiberarts considering I'll soon be regularly getting these things falling on my head & arms for a few months, this is a nice looking reminder of a future use of said plant part.

Mostly though I'll likely be dying fibers for handmade paper not hand spun yarn.

Went to one of the sites for my #handmadepaper project today, and everyone was so accommodating. Remember, I'm asking institutions to let me put wet paper on their buildings - which sounds wacky. But they suggested spots I might try, and even brought out a ladder for me. Amazing! Not every site has been welcoming, but I'm grateful for those that are willing to trust me & imagine that this might turn into something interesting.

Essai de gravure sur bois, enfin ce que je pensais être du bois !
C'est en fait un aggloméré, assez mou à travailler. L'expérience était plutôt plaisante de par la forme de la pièce et son petit format. Le résultat laisse à désirer mais la graine est semée, je recommencerai sur du bois brut !
