Just a few hours in, and I can already see some color! Walnuts produce a rich brown shade, with darkness depending on the dye-to-fabric ratio. This is when I get really excited!

Tried dying some Aida fabric with coffee. For my next cross stitch project I wanted a kind of aged, mottled creamy color. I tried 3 methods:
1. 1/2 tablespoon instant coffee dissolved in one cup boiling water. Soaked for one hour.
2. 1/2 teaspoon instant coffee dissolved in one cup boiling water. Soaked for one hour.
3. Ice dying method with one tablespoon instant coffee. Sat until all the ice melted.
Love the results! Now, how do I get the coffee smell out?

Next project is my arch nemesis, the Shepherd's Cross #roving, which I #handdyed years ago but then never could draft (slightly felted). It frustrated me so much it made me give up trying to learn to spin many times over the past few years. 😤
