I despaired of ever finding source art for this #MyNeighborsTheYamadas poster until I figured out it's an image from #Hanafuda cards. It's not the exact version of the card but the image is so close so I was to make #CoverArt. This completes my #StudioGhibli alternate poster series of #PLEX covers. #Ghibli

Today, I'm finally finishing the #Hanafuda #Papercraft project. I'll be completing the December Phoenix card, and then if I have time, framing all twelve pieces. All while listening to chill music.

A deck used in #Japan and #Korea to play #KoiKoi / #GoStop
There are twelve flowers, one for each month, and four cards of each flower... the cards can be captured by pairs of the same flower.
One curious thing is that the cards are rigid, plastic, to be used in a bar, in a canteen, with tables full of condensation from bottles of cold beer.

I played two games today, and won in both.... #KoiKoi a Japanese game with a different deck.... #hanafuda: four cards for each of the twelve plants... (the deck in the picture is a French and Japanese hybrid) .. and #TokaidoDuo a game set in Japan, painting landscapes, visiting temples and trading crafts....
