@qrper - was doing fall yard cleanup and listening to the recent #HamRadioWorkbench episode. You mentioned how much you like the manual data entry form that was added to the #POTA site a while back.

I figured I'd call out props where it was due - that feature was conceived, written, and implemented by Colby, W5RB. He's a pretty talented dude!

@W6KME - the episode of the #HamRadioWorkBench you were on was one of the ones I listened to on one of my long drives this week - it was an awesome listen! Just makes me wish I lived in SoCal to come see it myself some year 😉

Between my drive up to the Hudson Valley on Monday, and home again this afternoon, I made exactly 2.5 simplex contacts on 146.52, caught up on 2 episodes of #HamRadioWorkbench, and one episode of @therocketryshow

So overall I'd say not a bad commute😀

Had a GREAT time this evening recording a Ham Radio Workbench podcast, about putting on a large-scale Field Day setup (like the 23A that we pulled off with #CVARC this year). I'll hold off on details until I know more about release dates and so on, but we covered a lot of fun stuff in addition to Field Day.

Was listening to #HamRadioWorkbench 219 and @W5WTH mentioned running WSPR when he wasn’t using his rig - that’s genius, and I’m ashamed that the thought never crossed my mind😀. I ran WSPR on receive only on 20m all day today, and when I get a chance I’ll prob copy his idea of writing a script to fire it up automatically when my radio isn’t getting used. I might add an additional bit though, to have it also TX when I’m in the shack, maybe tied to prox sensor or similar.

Did my first big #POTA #AmateurRadio activation on HF. Spent 3hrs on 20m SSB on Friday 2024-06-14 activating K-4481 Sawtooth National Forest https://pota.app/#/park/US-4481

If you are waiting on my contact, I'm trying to figure out how to generate 64 log entries in ADIF format. Anyone have a good tool for doing this? #hamradio #hamradioworkbench @qrper What is your logging method to get paper into ADIF to upload to POTA.app?

Playing around with this setup for #POTA. Sewed a piece of 2mm Lexan in as a work surface. Magnets hold the (straight/single lever combo) #MorseCode key in place, but let me move it around. Green bag is an #EFHW, throw line, and weight. Some springiness, but eraser under the key helps a lot and I can hold it firm w/ left hand. Put loose items in the right pockets side to the empty antenna bag while operating.

#hamradioworkbench guys would be appalled at how cheap the bag was!
