  1. 🧵 … what I actually miss from the #Crumar #MojoDesktop is the full set of drawbars.

I had a #hx3organ expander once with a full set of drawbars, and it was a great catastrophe, and discussing with people in a forum made me leave this forum forever, there's nothing worse than white, male, old blues organ players (not even white, male, old blues guitar players). They even rang up the manufacturer and talked to them about me, and posted their phone conversations online… and stalked me elsewhere. Because I had insulted their holy grail of organ piece of crap.

So, the only full drawbar single manual #clonewheel is the #Viscount #LegendOne which looks as appealing as a cheap Italian car, not like an organ such as the also Italian #Crumar stuff.

I had an #OberheimViscount OB3² as my first organ, I had such a ball, but it died too soon.

Finishing my rant with a positive twist, I think I will play some very non-blues organ Tuesday in a week in Tübingen, Southern Germany: sudhaus-tuebingen.de/programm/

  2. Which organ is the best? Not talking liver vs kidneys here.

#GSIvb3ii runs in #Wine on #Linux, yet I wasn't succesfull yet with the VST version with #Yabridge yet.

But then, there's good old #setBfree by @x42

And honestly, they are quite different, but I am unable to say which is more fun to play. Of course, VB3-II looks a little more like classic organ stuff, not like the 90ties 3d computer game look of setBfree.

Why do I bother at all? Well, basically because I own a #Crumar #MojoDesktop #MIDIexpander… which is nothing more than VB3-II in a box. It also exists as a farily affordable iPad app.

Some years ago I started building my own MIDI drawbar controller for setBfree, but it was just… All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

The Crumar Mojo Desktop isn't perfect either, but it has some sweet things such as USB sockets that power USB MIDI keyboards and use their signal - plus 2 regular MIDI INs.
