Im benachbarten Park tobt heute abend ein Party-Event, das auch auf unserem Balkon nicht zu ignorieren ist. Als das Elvis-Medley mit "In the Ghetto" eröffnet wurde, musste ich allerdings schon grinsen.

Mathieu van der Poel heeft voor de zesde keer de cross in het Belgische Hamme op zijn naam geschreven. De wereldkampioen vierde zijn elfde zege in twaalf optredens als veldrijder dit seizoen. Hij revancheerde zich voor een stuurfout vorige week in Benidorm, waar hij als vijfde over de finish kwam.

Veldrijdster Fem van Empel lijkt klaar om volgende week haar wereldtitel in het Tsjechische Tabor te verdedigen. De 21-jarige Brabantse was ook de sterkste in het Belgische Hamme, een cross om de X02 Badkamers Trofee. Ze vierde alweer haar zestiende zege van het seizoen.
