We don’t know the pipe route. If it’s Kitimat rather than Rupert because a route exists, this is where tankers would go.

Just watched The Stand, a documentary about Haida blocking a logging company back in 1985 to protect their land. I cried, I laughed, clapped and swore. Truly inspired by their strength, tenacity and peaceful approach in negotiations (something I can learn from). More than ever, I'd like to visit Haida Gwaii and learn more there.

I live in an area upended by the #TMX construction for years. Hundreds of ignored protests, years of tall blue fences surrounding our local trails adorned with threats of incarceration. Dirty oiler flags and dirty workers smirking at residents anger as they idled their trucks for hours destroying our local habitat.
Alberta is admitting to #Canada they will never be content unless they are given carte blanche to destroy BC ecosystems and build new pipelines, despite lack of demand for their product.
There will always be another devastating project being forced upon us by #DanielleSmith and her heartless O&G Barons. This time, she’s content to sacrifice #BC’s #haidagwaii and North Coast, all for the sake of a dirty, greedy, corrupt Oil and Gas Industry. This will not end well.

Canada's federal government has recognized Aboriginal title over the archipelago of Haida Gwaii, which is off British Columbia's northern coast, in a historic agreement with the Haida First Nation. The Big Tide Haida Title Lands Agreement affirms that the Haida have title over the islands' lands, freshwater and foreshores, and transitions Crown-title land to the Haida people. It is the first time the federal government has recognized Aboriginal title through negotiations, and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau attended the ceremony, calling it: "A new chapter [that] confirms an incontrovertible and long-known truth: Haida Gwaii belongs to you."
