How about maybe.. Just maybe.. Start to LISTEN to their victims? Palestinians have been telling us, but Zionist propaganda was used to exaggerate antisemitism in Palestinians, and at the same time downplay atrocities committed by genocidal Zionist terrorists. Media played into the narrative during the Nakba. The same playbook is still in use. Why does the world wait for Zionists to admit a portion of their crimes?

Adam Raz's investigative report based on newly declassified Israeli military and court documents, reveals systematic war crimes, ethnic cleansing, and massacres committed by the #Haganah / #IDF during the 1948 #Nakba. It also dismantles the myth of Palestinian "voluntary flight"
[...] The Golani battalion commander distributed a written order stating that every tenth man in a conquered village where foreigners are found should be shot, and all the men in a house where property stolen from Jews is found should be executed. In the case of Arab al-Zebach, a Bedouin community living in the Galilee, he instructed to leave no trace: "Every Arab from the Zabahim must be killed."
[...] "I conquered Beersheva. I ordered my men to wipe out anyone who showed up on the streets - resisting or not. Destroy everything. Once the town surrendered, the killing stopped. THREAD: In the 1930s, Irish-born #ChaimHerzog emigrated to Palestine, where he joined Jewish terror group the #Haganah. Three decades later, Herzog became the first Israeli military governor of the illegally occupied #WestBank and #eastJerusalem.
Herzog was the (mostly ceremonial) #PresidentOfIsrael from 1983 to 1993, when the illegal occupation of #Gaza and the #WestBank continued. Illegal settlements on the West Bank grew rapidly.

Before the formation of the Israel Defense Forces in 1948, there were three underground #Zionist #militias - The #Haganah, the #Irgun and the #Lehi.
They differed in tactics and beliefs, and at times fought with each other - but together they terrorised #Palestinian villages and executed attacks and #bombings against the #British to force them to give up control of the land.
They blew up hotels in #Jerusalem, embassies in #Europe and #assassinated a UN mediator.
After #Israel was officiated as a state - the three #terrorist militias would create the #IDF - and their leaders would go on to form Israel’s government, become #politicians, #ambassadors and #PrimeMinisters.
And their dark #history would be forgotten.

@TonyStark An important article, but there's one aspect that's not mentioned at all: The #British Mandate for the "establishment in #Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people" was opposed violently by the arab population, but the not-yet independent Israel fought back. Britain, as de-facto colonial power tried to maintain control and #Haganah had to fight them, too - until the British withdrew.
So the freedom fighter, who fought for #independence against the #colonialists, is #Israel.

Mit 13 wurde Zeev Eshkolot Augenzeuge des Reichstagsbrands.
Vier Jahre später floh er nach Haifa, trat der #Haganah bei und stieg mit dem ersten @IDF-Offizierskurs zum Oberstleutnant auf. Er kämpfte im Unabhängigkeitskrieg, der Suezkrise und dem 6-Tagekrieg. Zudem war er führend in der säkularen Bewegung aktiv.
