TITLE: Why your brain keeps making the same decisions – even when better options exist

    URL: sciencedaily.com/releases/2026

Why do we keep making the same choices even when better options are available? Researchers found that simply repeating a decision can reshape what we prefer, causing familiar choices to feel better than alternatives. Instead of weighing every option from scratch, the brain often remembers what it chose before and repeats it. That shortcut may help explain many everyday habits and seemingly irrational decisions.

  6. I don't do New Year resolutions, but I am trying to change my morning routine. From random early wake-up (5:00 - 6:00) followed by a couple of hours of doom-scrolling, I now have a structure. If I wake before 6:00, stay in bed, go back to sleep, meditate, write head poems (to be instantly forgotten) but do NOT get up unless in need. 6:00 alarm, 15 minutes ablutions, 30 minutes yoga, 30 minutes reading my current paper book. 15 minutes timed news catch up, then breakfast.

I'm at day 7 and committed to the principle "do it for 3 months and it becomes habit"

Do you have a thought-out, planned routine?

  7. 🚀 Unlock the True Power of Habits!

In my latest Medium article, I explore the complexities of habit formation beyond what popular self-help books often portray. While well-known authors like Duhigg, Clear, and Guise provide valuable insights, they might be oversimplifying how habits truly work. Habits are more than just automated actions—they interact with other impulses, and breaking or forming them requires more than just repetition.
