Gyeongseong Creature ~ Staffel 2
Definitiv schwächer als die 1. Staffel, aber dennoch ganz interessant. Anderes Flair in der "Neuzeit", als in den 1940ern. Mir bisschen zu viel Geschnulze, war aber noch okay. Mal sehen, ob's irgendwann weitergeht.

Anders, als zuerst gedacht - aber fand ich richtig gut! Wird von Folge zu Folge besser. Insgesamt recht realistisch gehalten. Horrorelemente gut platziert, mit ner Prise Romance 👀 frag mich, was da noch kommt 🤔

13-Feb : Most memorable design for the opening credits?There were many great animated opening credits this year. But the opening that I remember is "Flex X Cop" - the colors & the music really made it.
Note: Gyeongseong Creature's opening was also amazing - especially once you knew the story.

Gyeongseong Creature
(2023 - Netflix, 10 1:10 eps)Unusual in that it depicts the Japanese occupation in 1945 & the war crimes. Many actors turned down the roles because the topic is too sensitive.
When you hate horror, but you find yourself rooting for the creature, you know the writing & acting are fabulous. The costumes are wonderful, the sets, the props, all superbly executed. It is a stellar production.
An unwilling hero finds himself "drafted". Enlisting the help of professional detectives, they set off to find out what exactly is happening. It's a great mystery thriller with action, family & community, & romance.
The questions of what would you do under torture, what do you turn a blind eye to, how much risk are you willing to take, will haunt you as you see what the characters are up against.
Anxiously awaiting part 2.

It was so good! It had several things that reminded me of kDramas. Current western films just aren't the same!!
Now I see the owner of a flourishing business during war, the white suit, the piano player, the trying to recruit for the resistance - all in Gyeongseong too!!

I intend to watch "Casablanca" this afternoon before my "Gyeongseong Creature" (eps. 2) watch party tonight.
If I've seen the whole movie before, I don't remember. Luckily, someone in the watch party was knowledgeable and seeing all sorts of similarities between the two. So now I have to see for myself.

@jcurries Haha, sounds like fun!! I really like #Doona! and #MyDemon (devastated that it's ending tomorrow)! That Moon show not so much. Waiting for more of #GyeongSeongCreature to load before taking it on, as well as the newest #LeeDongWook show.
Currently returned to #OurBlues after an extended break and it's looking great. Also watching $Moving, which is really excellent but way too violent for my liking! #kdrama
