If you have even a passing interest in espionage, the Second World War, the Cold War, or Britain in the fifties, this book by the KGB controller of the Fenbog Five is a must read.

I was particularly struck by the high esteem in which the author holds Guy Burgess, in contrast to the regular portrayal of Burgess as nothing but a buffoonish, upper class, louche lefty.

Being reminded of the Soviet/Russian perspective on midcentury British and US foreign policy was also refreshing.
