Marking 60 years since the #WaveHillWalkOff & 50 years since the Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1976, a 2026 50c coin honours the #Gurindji people & their Country - the birthplace of #AboriginalLandRights.
These 2 pivotal moments, along with the 1975 handback between #GoughWhitlam & #VincentLingiari, recognise a legacy of strength, determination & unity. Lingiari's vision that "blackfella & whitefella unite as one" continues to inspire.

The #WaveHill walk-off, also known as the #Gurindji #strike, was a walk-off and strike by 200 Gurindji stockmen, house servants and their families, starting on 23 August 1966 and lasting for seven years. It took place at Wave Hill, a cattle stationin #Kalkarindji (formerly known as Wave Hill), Northern Territory, Australia, led by Gurindji man Vincent Lingiari.
