Slowly weaning #TempusGameIt off of semantic-ui-react, as that project seems to be toast. Fortunately my time a #Guilded made me a much better HTML/CSS dev than I was all those years ago when I started the project.

I don't know about security but #Guilded is way far better than #Discord if you are into Community Management. guilded.gg

Guilded being shut down later this year is quite unfortunate, as it leaves Discord without any true full-featured alternatives.

Guilded has some really great emojis though and now they're all saved on this instance for anyone to use! :guilded: :rg4: :guilded_salute:

Discord no longer has any competition.

Got an answer already! Seems they can manually trigger the deletion process. Account gone! And with that, I can also delete Authy. #Guilded

The only account I have left on Authy is Guilded now.

Guilded, who forced their users to connect their accounts to their Roblox accounts. What a choice.
I can't even log in anymore without connecting a Roblox account.

Sent them an e-mail to ask for the deletion of my account, since I don't have a Roblox account and *will not* create one to delete my damn Guilded account, lmao.

Мессенджер Revolt После блокировки Discord в РФ люди начали искать варианты решения проблемы. Легально это можно сделать двумя способами: Перейти на альтернативный мессенджер с централизованным управлением от сторонней компании (TeamSpeak, Skype и др.). Правда, некоторые аналоги Discord уже упали под нагрузкой и вынуждены ограничить доступ пользователям из РФ, как Guilded . Поднять собственный сервер. Второй вариант кажется наиболее надёжным с учётом будущих блокировок. Ведь любой мессенджер из первого пункта может сам упасть или отказать в доступе с территории РФ, или его тоже внесут в чёрный список. В итоге остаётся только свой сервер. Желательно в локальной сети или хотя бы на виртуальном хостинге.

Discord в последнее время разочаровывает своими нововведениями: переход на уникальные имена пользователей вместо дискриминаторов (#0000), редизайн мобильного приложения, реклама (спонсорские квесты). Поэтому некоторые пытаются перейти на альтернативы.

Guilded привлекает своим многообразием возможностей, всё доступно бесплатно. Но это такая же закрытая централизованная платформа как и Discord. Более того, в 2021 году её приобрела публичная компания Roblox. Разработчики Guilded обещали, что это не скажется на пользовательском опыте (https://www.guilded.gg/blog/joining-roblox).

Теперь же, с 15 июля 2024 года все аккаунты Guilded должны быть привязаны к аккаунту Roblox, чтобы продолжить пользоваться платформой. Даже если это изменение отменят, доверие к платформе уже не вернуть. Лояльные пользователи и партнёры массово отказываются от использования. Скорее всего, Guilded больше никому не будет нужен.

Пользователи Guilded хотят иметь свободную, а не бездушную корпоративную платформу. Однако это невозможно, потому что она всегда была проприетарной и централизованной. Поэтому на ней кто-то всегда будет иметь власть над своими пользователями. До 2021 года это была независимая частная компания, а после — публичная компания Roblox.

Почему-то многие этого до сих пор не понимают и возвращаются в Discord, предлагая экспортировать туда все свои чаты. Некоторые всё же решают попробовать более свободные платформы. Например, Matrix (https://matrix.org/) является не только открытым, но и децентрализованным, благодаря чему ни одна компания не сможет заставить пользователей принимать нежелаемые изменения. Revolt (https://revolt.chat/) хоть и с открытым исходным кодом сервера и клиента, но пользователи разных экземпляров сервера не смогут общаться друг с другом, и платформа принадлежит группе энтузиастов, которые занимаются проектом в свободное время.

I tested #Guilded a bit but gotta say I prefer #Revolt over it. Though both still being centralized and being a stickler for federation and open source I'd rather like to see more features added into #Matrix #Element. :BlobHajMlem:

If you ask me, #Guilded is a better platform for communities than #Discord.

Other than features found in Discord are also in Guilded, what I like the most is how the communities are setup:

**In Discord**
Level 1: Your server
Level 2: Channels

**In Guilded**
Level 1: Your community
Level 2: Create different servers
Level 3: Different channels for different servers of your community

Guilded's approach also makes it easier to setup community-wide moderators, bots and rules. Or, you can set up per server and per channel like in Discord.

Un move risqué, qui a forcément un impact sur son développement : une autre app, un autre service et surtout, des habitudes qui changent. Sans compter qu'il n'y a pas tous les autres serveurs/créateurs dessus ! Forcément, ça freine l'adoption 😅

Je ne regrette pas ce choix ceci dit ! Discord est un peu trop à l'aise ces derniers temps, entre NFT et projets douteux...

Ok, friends. I'm here with another #Question, because of course I am! Anybody know of any #Accessible #Matrix clients for #Mac and #iOS? May be going down that route, and #Guilded is not the most accessible thing I've used ever. I e-mailed them, and we'll see if anything comes of it, but I'm always happy to explore alternatives in the meantime.
