  2. Here's a curly question; anyone here understand enough Mandarin Chinese and Te Reo Māori to tell me the Māori equivalent of "guanxi"?

    The word "mana" is in the same ballpark, but as I understand it, that's more equivalent to "ahimsa" in the Ghandian context ("soul force"). "Utu" ("reciprocity") is a closely related concept, but my understanding of guanxi is that it's the respect a person has, and the favours they can call in, because of the reciprocity principle.
