Lost for 40+ years, we're extremely happy to announce that Stairway to the Stars (#Commodore #VIC20) - 3rd game in Mike Taylor's Magic Mirror series has finally been saved. This is thanks to phenomenal work of Tommi Lempinen & Tom Roger Skauen for #GTW

This could be huge! - A potentially first complete game recovered by #GTW for the MSU era multisystem (which evolved from the unreleased #KonixMultisystem). The emulator has to almost be built around the games recovered for it - so really excited to see what @savoury_snax can get going!

First huge surprise of the year from #GTW with Sensible Soccer for the #NES recovered! A near-complete conversion seemingly unknown until now. Missing for 32 years, you can finally play it. Go be a goal-scoring superstar hero! ⚽

Check out Harrier Strike, a cool side-scrolling shooter created for the #Commodore64 by Players Software in 1990. It wasn't released as the genre seemed tired to the publisher, but thanks to #GTW, you can play a pretty much complete game:

Still no luck finding out what finally happened to Bounce and for that matter also to Virtually Board Snowboarding II, which were - together with Kart Racing - the three launch titles developed "in-house" by #Nokia (by #Kuju actually) as evidenced by the attached magazine scan.
For VBSB2, I know at least from a former Nokia employee that the developers constantly missed milestones, but that does not really explain much. It was certainly not cancelled before July 2003, as the Nokia Academy CD from that month still lists it as a launch game.

Yet another #Commodore64 game has been recovered for the #GTW archives, this time in the shape of Memory Man, a nicely presented Simon clone which was due for release in 1989 and has been missing ever since, until now:

Did you know The Godfather almost hit the #SEGA #MasterSystem in 1992? Sadly, it vanished after a rough first cut that wasn't up to scratch. Building on searches in the community last year, #GTW takes a look and makes some initial breakthroughs:

@iHarbonaut shares mock-ups with #GTW of a cancelled Super Monkey Ball game that was intended for a #mobile #J2ME release in 2006. For reasons unknown, the game seems to have been cancelled very early on and may not have got past the concept stage.

Fungus 2 was a neat unreleased Players Software budget title for the #Commodore64 by Karl Hörnell. The game was saved by #GTW in 2006, then given a proper release at long last in 2021 by @BitmapSoft:

After our recent post on the 16/8-bit editions of Bushido Warrior, remains of the #AmstradCPC version has been found and released today on #GTW, thanks to preservation efforts of Steve Brown. A neat oriental themed Gauntlet clone due for release in 1988.

Starsat was an isometric #commodore64 arcade strategy game, that was fully completed but unreleased - even though offered to a few companies in Australia. Thankfully, a copy was kept and shared with #GTW to preserve - so you can play the game as intended:

A full game recovered and released today on #GTW for the #Commodore64 in the form of Metal Piramid (not Pyramid). A neat 10 level platformer, not too dissimilar to Hard n Heavy. With thanks to Csaba Virag for the preservation - we hope you enjoy it!

#Mals #Malles 🇮🇹 is the terminus station of the #Vinschgau #ValVenosta railway line from #Meran.
The line re-opened some 20 years ago, after having been closed down in 1990. Today, #Stadler #GTW diesel units sustain a dense timetable and electrification works are ongoing.
#Mals station café has some nice pre-1990 photos, taken along the line, on display. -
