  1. Our friend Greg co-leader of #NOAA's #PMEL Global Observations of Biogeochemistry and Ocean Physics program (think #Argo) is having his last day there.

Our friend Dan head of [USGS] Global Systems Lab is gone.

#GSL's web page is gone, or unresponsive at this time. Looks as though the whole thing has been vanished.

Changes inflicted for only ~$75M paid as a bribe to the current administration by the #FossilFuel industry.

It would be a good idea to strongly express ourselves at this time.

  2. Ich habe gerade im #KiKa gesehen, dass es eine junge Künstlerin namens #FIA gibt, die ihre Lieder auch in #Gebärdensprache singt. Wie cool!
2023 war sie sogar beim #JuniorESC.

  3. I'm so hecking glad for Solar. Finally getting his own #GSL trophy. GG!

  4. I'm home, nothing much to do. It's raining cats and dogs.
    Thankfully, it's #GSL finals day!

  5. The Snowfall in should help the and reservoirs Standard-Examiner. Toxic dust blowing off a drying/dieing is a concern of mine, so let it snow, let it snow . . .

  6. @civodul @khinsen

If #GSL is currently unmaintained, then that seems like a high priority for encouraging developers/funding/institutional support for core science #reproducibility . OK for effort to go in to high-level interpreted languages like #R and #python / #numpy / #scipy , but the core like GSL needs attention too.

(Specific bug right now: interruptible sleep state S, apparently induced by using spline_akima_interp instead of spline_cspline_interp ; savannah.gnu.org/bugs/index.ph 6 yrs old?)

  7. CW: TTRPG OGL GSL thoughts, looking back and forward

I had no idea until last week what the #GSL even was. Life events had me stop playing some time after 3.0 came out and I didn't start again until 5e.

Lots of people took a break at the same time for other reasons, but still came back for 5e.

I see a chance that time will heal wounds. Perhaps the methods behind 7e's release (whenever that is...) will do that. I don't see it happening sooner than that.
