After months of planning and delays, today I finally installed a small piece of welded wire fence panel on the back wall of my #orchid #growtent. It replaces a rather kludgey setup with horizontal dowels supported by dangly vertical chains. This is so much better. A plant can be hung at any point with a resolution if 1" in the vertical and ½" in the horizontal. This change became urgent when one of the orchids suddenly popped a sprout that rocketed up toward the LED lights while we were on vacay. It's very sturdy and makes the growtent a lot more rigid, too.

Some of the tomatillo are doubles as an experiment since they require two plants to pollinate better so if I give them away they can get "one". The pepper tray is getting crowded but I should be able to put that tray of perennial sunflowers out in a week or so and then put them in two trays. Only 2 of 4 lights in the tent on.

We just got this grow tent and set it up. It contains several phalaenopsis orchids and a paphiopedilum. The humidifier tracks temperature, humidity and vapor pressure deficit. Most of the orchids are putting out flower stalks. One of them has two.
Typical daytime conditions:
Temperature - 83°
Humidity - controlled at 65%
VPD - 1.4kPa

The geraniums are greening up slowly after being under the lights for a week. I've turned the lights down some since the lettuce seemed to be suffering as it got taller. The grape cutting from last year that had a verbena I saved in it is growing fast! The saved Red Marconi isn't doing much but I haven't fertilized or pruned it either. Extra details in ALT about tent and LED lights.

Reconfigured the grow tent for potting up. 18 per tray I'll be 5 pots short of 4 full trays now. The hyssop starts getting planted tomorrow maybe and the bench area holds 4 trays so I don't need the tent yet but I'll use it and maybe get some more perennial flowers going.
A month of frost danger to go at minimum, maybe.

This is my tiny grow space where the fun with growing chilis happens. A 80x80x160cm (31.5x31.5x63in) grow tent.
I used to have just some plants in the windows growing. Only few of them grew well enough to produce more than a handful of fruit here in Germany. So I decided to try a small grow tent with an led light in my limited space. I didn't like the 'exotic' light very much but the 2 COB 80W LED light was just enough to keep my plants happy. I had some chills all year round and I could experiment and have fun with this hobby.
Of course I since upgraded several things.. :ablobcatcoffee: More on that next toot..
