  1. Choy Sum with pork soup - over rice.
Another simple, peasant meal, that my family has made & eaten for many generations.
We grow choy sum, year round. We grow several other Asian greens because we want to increase our own fresh & healthy homegrown cultural crops & decrease our money spent buying healthy fresh produce.

  2. Morning transplanting is done 👩‍🌾💚👍
There's bok choy, sui choy, Chinese mustard greens & baby bok choy.
All transplanted to remediated soil area - it used to be lawn grass with crappy soil with too much clay. Now, I'm growing food on it 😁

  3. My 3rd #VietnameseCoriander container is now totally full of happy plants! I propagated these ones from my main repurposed bathtub planter, in June. They are left outside in Winter & they survive through snow/ice. We harvest them year round on an as needed basis.

⚠️DO NOT put these into the ground. Grow in containers so you can control them. They spread fast, if put into ground.

  4. Silver #cockscomb - very similar to amaranth.
Originally native to #India - it was saved from extinction through #cultivation because of its religious significance. #Indian , #Burmese & #Chinese gardeners usually plant them by temples.

Cockscomb is an #EdiblePlant & a pretty #grain alternative. Often consumed in southern #Nigeria, #Benin , #Congo & #Indonesia. Young stems & flowers are #edible. Seeds are also edible are referred to as #pseudocereals.

  5. Don't toss/compost your homegrown #PepperLeaves. #Harvest them because they're food. They can be used as herbs substitute if you don't have basil or mints. They can be cooked & eaten. They're nutritious, so start eating your pepper leaves!

Mom had told me that in her matriarch village, our relations grew & harvested #peppers & #leaves for many generations. It's used in many different Asian cultures as both food & medicine.
