Winter carrots seeds were sowed. This is two of 8 pots that I sowed with more mini rainbow carrots & some finger carrots. I should be able to harvest these carrots in November/December. I will have round & finger carrots sowed outdoors in pots in October & November, moved indoors over Winter & those should be ready for harvest in January/February 🥕

I've had a couple of stressful days & am working on more gardening therapy today. I'll update more, later on.

I spent the morning taking apart my mini chainsaw to clean & replace saw blade. Unsuccessful with getting new blade on properly - it's too loose. I'll get back to it later & figure it out.
I used our dolly to move this straw bale for a combo backyard mushrooms growing experiment. Trying out no sterilization of straw & grow both oyster & wine caps out of same bale.
I'm skipping the cover the bale with a tarp because it's placed in a spot where it's shady & gets little sunlight. Light is similar to dappled forest & is minimal in the spot that I chose to do this multiple mushrooms growing experiment.

All my other mushrooms growing stations used sterilized straw. I'm interested in seeing how this unsterilized straw bale does. I watered it for about 20 minutes to ensure the entire bale is moist enough to start putting fungi cultures/mycelium into. I'll keep updating on how this experiment goes.

It's pouring rain outside. Forecast calls for more rains tomorrow. My rain barrels & buckets will be filled well. Sunshine returns on Wednesday.
I'll thinning out this large pot, full of mixed carrots & some self seeded tomatoes, on Wednesday morning before going to work. I wasn't expecting that many carrot seeds to germinate. I used a bag of 3 year old seeds to sow this pot.
I grow all my root vegetables in big pots for easier harvesting. All my yams & potatoes are growing out of large felted bags. I have beetroot & turnips growing together out of a large Rubbermaid bin.

These are Asian greens that we grow & harvest as needed, year round. They are put under light covers in the colder Winter months. I keep their bases well mulched during Winter & they do just fine.

I grew this bountiful #GroundCherry plant from seeds collected from last year's #VolunteerPlant. I dug a volunteer ground cherry plant out from a sidewalk crack, last year & transplanted into a pot. That plant provided loads of #fruits. I saved 2 of the largest fruits for sowing this year's plants - gave several seeds away too.
