I planted the seeds from a persimmon I ate last fall. There's an old Japanese saying: Three years for peach and chestnut, eight for persimmon. Let's see about that, shall we?

Tragedy in greenhouse. I was removing some aphid-infested leaves from the vine, then... I chopped the vine instead. Melons are not even close to being ripe. Check twice, cut once! 😭 #gardening #groweverything

Do you think they are ready? I sowed some melon seeds I found in the greenhouse in the summer. Now I have 5 melons on the vine.

Did I show you my pole bean tower in my backyard? It was slow going at first, but it produced so well. I will do that again next summer, and meanwhile I'll plant some more in the greenhouse.

Oops of the Month!
I noticed these three okras on the plant, thinking they are ginormous buds that were about to burst open to be beautiful flowers. They just didn't seem to open. Oh I'm so stupid. THEY ARE OKRAS, NOT FLOWER BUDS! I must have missed the flowers! And these must be woody as hell by now. SIGH

Today's harvest: The blackberries are my morning snackies. The yellow tomato came from my second year plant. Whooping 350 grams. The first harvest of the purple zebra tomatoes... I thought they were really pretty.
