The Double N catched speed as Manuel and Mercedes watched the last stop in the eighth hell becoming smaller and smaller, thus concluding their journey through the land of the deads.
My re-playthrough of Grim Fandango Remastered is complete and I wrote an itty bitty tiny review on Questlog.
It was...amazingly good. It felt familiar, I felt once again as the teenage kiddo that came back home from the game shop with a new game box, ready to put the CD into the PC and be transported to a magic new world.

For a few seconds I've been almost, emphasis on almost, convinced that I could work this morning, but the DevOPS single handedly destroyed the DataOPS pipelines, again.
Well...time for a war room, explain that I can't work if they don't fix the issue and then pick up the Steam Deck and play Grim Fandango Remastered.
I tried my best to be productive chat but it wasn't enough!!!

Ich habe Grim Fandango erneut durchgespielt.
Mir gefällt das Design: Das "Atztec Deco", der Mix aus Art déco und präkolumbianischer Architektur ist toll.
Und auch der Soundtrack im Spiel ist hervorragend. Die Musik gilt als einer der besten Videospiel-Soundtracks, die je geschrieben wurden. Klassischer Big-Band-Jazz und Bebop plus traditionelle mexikanische Musik. 😍

@lucasarts_places I have never played Grim Fandango but all the images of that game that are posted confuse me. I can't make out what the game is about, what era or world it is set in. I know it had this cartoony skeleton in it and I always thought it was some kind of Dios de los Muertos thing. But none of the images seem to reflect that and the CG looks quite dated...
It's such a contrast to the Monkey Island stuff. -

A game with a lot of potential. But in my opinion it should have been three games, each stretching over 2 or 3 years. The ideas were great, the characters lovable, but the story just way too monumental for just one game. Which is a bit sad, as it deserved better. And it was already a bit of a swan song for Lucas Arts adventures.
