Well, I've made the bed.
Literally. We just tore out the bed I built 11 years ago (gas-lift double) and tossed it and the mattress in the local tip (140 kg). Put down some new 12mm marine ply flooring in the bedroom and installed a new (purchased, flat-pack) gas-lift double bed and mattress (70 kg). Apparently, when I design and build something, I overengineer it a bit 😁.
Weightloss is always good in a motorhome.
Plus, I ran a temporary fix for a couple of buggered John Guest plumbing fittings while waiting on replacement parts. I hate those things with a passion.
Is new bed, is nice good 👍😴

I'm finally replacing the bed I made 10 years ago for our motorhome. The original bed was a Murphy Bed, the type that folds up against the wall. Popular in small flats (apartments) and it left plenty of room, but was a pain in the arse to actually live with. No storage, either.
So I made a gas-lift double bed — the biggest practical size, as this motorhome has no slide-outs — and we've lived on it for 10 years. Unfortunately, it's just not doing it for us anymore; breaking slats, old mattress, etc.
Since I no longer have a workspace to do woodworking, I have to suck up my pride and ... buy one. Ugh. Still only a double, but without installing a slide-out, nothing bigger will fit. The storage isn't as deep as the one I built, but we'll make do.
Anyway, I still get to put it together 😁.
PS. And a new mattress, too.

Well, bugger.
Problem(s) somewhere in the fuel delivery system.
I'll start hunting it/them down tomorrow.

Beware of the spinifex getting caught in the underside of your vehicle in northern Australia and causing it to catch fire
