Earth Day is every day.
“We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors. We borrow it from our children.”

Slugger O’Toole sees it. 👀
The Greens are on the rise and every % point brings an Assembly seat closer.💚 BUT EVERY MEMBER COUNTS

People are done with the same old parties.
5% is our highest Lucid Talk polling ever. And we’re only getting started. 💚

🚨 Since February last year most parties have been stagnant or in decline… but not the Greens!
While the Stormont shambles stumbles on, Northern Ireland is waking up. The old parties are falling as we’re rising.
This is what hope looks like. 💚

Even the former boss of BP thinks new North Sea drilling licences make no sense. 🛢️
Do you agree? 👇

@sean @PoliceStateUK The trouble with #GreenPartyUK is that there isn't one: we have 3 administratively separate green parties in the UK: #GreenPartyEnglandAndWales, #ScottishGreens, and #GreenPartyNI.
Though that still doesn't help, because while I think #ScottishGreens is hashtag with at least some use, I kind of made the other 2 up and I don't think either is particularly common.

Attended a great event at the weekend.
A fireside style chat on the theme of Strength in Solidarity, as part of #InternationalWomensDay
Some excellent, and important discussions.

For years I’ve voted based on “not who I really want, but they stand a chance against someone I think would be worse”.
I still think that is a sensible way to approach things, but I have to say I’m super thankful that the Green Party are becoming the clear choice, even if you don’t agree with everything they have to say.
Politics is a bus, not a taxi, pick the one that gets you closest to the world you want.

A dog died from a panic-induced stroke after fireworks went off near its home.
Cllr Anthony Flynn says what every decent person knows - our fireworks laws are broken. Twenty-year-old rules aren’t protecting pets, wildlife or people.
It’s time for tighter controls, clear limits and stronger enforcement. Fireworks should never come at the cost of animal welfare or community safety.
-
Let’s make this Halloween kinder for every creature - because caring for animals is part of caring for our community.

Belfast city centre is at a crossroads. Will community need beat developer greed? We say yes! Time for overdose prevention, safer streets, and real public transport - not empty promises or empty buildings. A greener, fairer Belfast starts now. #BelfastCityCentre #GreenPartyNI

Mental health thrives when people, communities and nature are cared for.
Greens believe wellbeing isn’t a luxury - it’s the foundation of a fair and healthy society. 💚

Their promises ring hollow while hate crime rises and minority communities and women remain unprotected. One of Judge Marrinan’s recommendations was making misogyny a crime - yet women and minorities still feel less safe.”

The Green Party calls for honest dialogue and urgent investment in community safety, restorative justice, and support for victims. We demand that all political leaders reject inflammatory rhetoric and work together to build a society where diversity is celebrated and where community concerns are addressed through constructive, non-violent means, not through fear or division.

🚨 This isn't about protecting women. It's about distraction.
Councillor Áine Groogan calls it like it is:
The UK Supreme Court ruling is being twisted to fuel a culture war and scapegoat trans people — instead of tackling real threats like misogyny, toxic masculinity, and austerity.🟢 “Trans women are not a threat to women. The patriarchy is.”
The Green Party stands with our trans community. Always.

🚆 Oh wow, a 50% increase in Belfast-Dublin train passengers after doubling the service—who could’ve guessed? 🙃 Maybe investing in reliable, frequent, and affordable public transport actually works? Shocking.
Now, how about we apply this revolutionary concept to the rest of Northern Ireland? Or is that too much to ask? 🌍💚 #PublicTransportMatters #GreenPartyNI #SustainableTravel
-
The same forces using trans rights as a culture war issue have a broader agenda: rolling back women’s rights, contraception access, abortion rights, and LGBTQ+ protections. We won’t stand by. 💚✊ #TransRightsAreHumanRights #SocialJustice #GPNI #GreenPartyNI

What does ‘progressive politics’ mean in Northern Ireland? And what does the ban on Executive parties at Pride reveal about deeper issues—and those working against equality? Our leader, Mal O’Hara, speaks up for social justice. 💚🏳️🌈 #GreenPartyNI

Great to see. Luke is a friend and a very fine committed person. #Hillsborough and #DownshireWest couldn't do better.
"LUKE ROBINSON, Lagan Valley Greens' chairman, will be standing for @GreenPartyNI in DOWNSHIRE WEST in local council elections."
