New York's largest battery energy storage system #BESS project (Swiftsure, 650MW on Staten Island) has been canceled.
IMO root cause of failure: $300MM project was too big for Fullmark Energy ($600MM in total solar assets). Delays were starting back in 2022!⬇️

29,343 trees have been planted in the world so far by mastodon.green tooters.

Trees have been planted in Malizia Mangrove Park (Philippines) & Eden Reforestation Projects (Madagascar).
March: €976 fees; 591 trees.

Most people on the fediverse are actually on servers with turnover in one way or the other. It's a turnover based system. We can use a non-technical federation protocol to create systemic change here.
The working name for this protocol is 'The Green Fediverse Protocol'.
It can be implemented here and now. The gist of the protocol is to only federate with servers that plant trees.

@weareopencoop I appreciate the tip. Simply visiting a #Misskey page put my PC to hard work (even mouse movement was unbarably slow). I looked at the #greenfediverse list for a #Calckey instance and there were only a few listed, none of which were /green/. But that list is old so maybe I should look further on that.
