The Green Party are suggesting that they will contest the Makerfield by-election. By splitting the progressive vote there's a good chance that Reform will win. Andy Burnham is in favour of electoral reform, with the prospect of real change if he ultimately goes on to win a Labour leadership contest.
If this is true, it's a petty and narrow minded decision by the Green Party, and I'll be resigning my membership and giving up on politics altogether.
