I'm impressed with Jeff Nguyen's responsible reporting here. He was given a terrible speculative question and handled it like a pro.
A little background, he was reporting on the status of fire fighting equipment maintenance in Los Angeles. It was stemming from the LA Fire Chief saying to the media that deferred maintenance was harming and had harmed readiness. Afterwards, the mayor and chief weren't subsequently seen at the most recent scheduled conference.
