CW: Photo GeoLocation Project
59%. Finished with Egypt, now geolocating my 2006 Great Ocean Walk. This is really challenging, as there is no Street View and I have to rely on cross-linking clues in my photos with how long I've walked since the last good location (or how long to the next good location). My walking pace is very slow as it's all up and down and I'm carrying 20+ kg of stuff on my back. Plus, I'm often lost.

I recently posted a yarn about my successful 2006 walk on the Great Ocean Walk and down the Great Ocean Road, in which I mentioned a less-successful 2003 wander. This is that 2003 wander.

If you want to read the two in succession, here is the link to the 2006 story again:

Sun, rain, beauty, and creepy talkative trees on the Great Ocean Walk at the end of its first year. Featuring a loo with a view on Christmas Day at the aptly named Devils Kitchen campsite.

Day 3 of my #Mosstodon collection from the weekend's hike. There's moss on those rocks that sit alongside that little inlet. And that bird was doing a bit of sunbathing in the morning sunshine!

Day 2 of my #Mosstodon collection from the weekend's hike.

Had a great overnight hike on the weekend along the #GreatOceanWalk, in Western Victoria in Australia.
I made sure to stop & pause at any moss-covered flora so I can contribute to #Mosstodon!

The Great Ocean Walk from Apollo Bay to the Twelve Apostles is a hike that covers approximately 100km in seven days. Even if you're not into hiking and camping, the Great Ocean Road is a stunning drive and worth doing as a daytrip.
This time last year, @verdigriis & me did the hike with a moderate amount of preparation & training, survived, and enjoyed the experience (despite storms, mud, and bitey insects).
I think we're extremely fortunate to have this extraordinarily beautiful landscape and wildlife right here on our doorstep in Victoria.#GreatOceanWalk #GOW #Hiking #Victroria #Australia #ApolloBay #TwelveApostles
