Yellowlegs: A Study in Contrast

I find this image captivating because it features a lesser yellowlegs (Tringa flavipes), the smaller bird on the left, alongside a greater yellowlegs (Tringa melanoleuca), on the right, together in the same frame. I’m not sure how often this occurs, but it feels like a rare and special sight for me. I frequently find myself guessing which species I’m observing.

Good morning. ☕☕☕

It stormed last night (I think) and we apparently lost power. I didn't notice until this morning. Which is just fine.

I let the dogs out and made coffee as usual. But when I let the dogs out, I noticed something small running across the yard. Charlie was hot on its trail. But whatever it was, (rabbit or squirrel) it disappeared through the hole under the fence.
