One year before the #ChineseExclusionAct was brought into effect, locally the #VictoriaBC #SchoolDistrict voted to #segregate #Chinese #students from the school system.
In 2022, on the 100th anniversary, the #GreaterVictoriaSchoolDistrict issued an #apology for this & the #ChineseCommunity marched to #commemorate the actions of students who walked out in protest of the segregation.
