New research shows that having healthy grandparents nearby can be good for a mother’s mental health, especially when her kids are young.

Researchers at Univ of Helsinki, Umeå University, and Tilburg University looked at 488,000 moms of children age 12 and under in Finland. They found that moms were less likely to experience depression (measured by antidepressant purchases) if their parents are under age 70, employed, and have no severe health issues. Grandparents living especially close (within about 6 miles) was also linked to lower depression for mothers.

Apparently The Boy found a small ball at the party and spent much of his time kicking it and running after it and kicking it again.

As a result, his mama signed him up for #football when they got home. He starts a three week trial (!) on 6th May. He isn’t even two yet!
