The server brought snacks to start - green olives and blanched, salted almonds. I'm liking this particular trend.

I also decided to try the Emerald Hearth (Hendrick's gin, St-Germain elderflower liqueur, green chartreuse, luxardo liqueur, lime juice and a cucumber ribbon), which I really enjoyed.

Lunch today was at the #HearthstoneLounge in the #GrandCalifornianHotel , which we haven't been to in years, from when it was all first come, first serve and there was barely any food available. #Disneyland

The husband got a last-minute reservation, so we decided to try it out.

I started with the French onion soup, which was really good and which was a bigger serving than I expected.

I also had the cobb salad, with salmon added. I enjoyed this as well. 1/2

Lots of treats are available at the cart in the lobby of the #GrandCalifornianHotel . Those little chocolate chip cookie cups are pretty tasty, whether with the milk that comes with it or if you upgrade for an additional fee to an adult beverage. #Halloween #Halloweentime #Disneyland

A #Halloween #MinnieMouse demitasse cup is available during #Halloweentime at the #GCHCraftsmanGrill (previously known as #WhiteWaterSnacks ) at the #GrandCalifornianHotel . I went to take a look today, and I was really surprised that it's literally the same design as the one I bought sometime between 2009 and 2013 at #Disneyland . 1/2

As part of the #SeasonOfTheForce celebration at #Disneyland , the lobby of the #GrandCalifornianHotel has a display of the first #DeathStar , with an x-wing (presumably Luke's) being chased by Darth Vader's ship and an additional TIE fighter. #StarWars

Haven't been to #NapaRose in a little while, but the Vintner's Menu seems to have gone up quite a bit, and they've added the "parting nibble". I'm not a fan of that sort of thing because by the time I'm done with dessert, I'm already full and really don't want more sweets, which is often what the closing bit seems to be. (It's been called "a kiss goodnight" elsewhere.) And they've now added three tiers of wine pairings. #GrandCalifornianHotel #Disneyland

Stocked up on my galactic goodies last night before leaving #DisneylandResort from the cart at the #GrandCalifornianHotel lobby. #lightsabres #MilleniumFalcon #StarWars

They were kind enough to add a little extra on my dessert, which was the chocolate mousse cake with chocolate ice cream.

We didn't finish our bread so took the rest home. I don't remember the pretty logoed bag but we rarely have leftovers from there.

Dinner last night was at #NapaRose inside the #GrandCalifornianHotel .

We found out that they've had a new bread that's been available since last Thanksgiving - sweet potato bread, with apricot butter and cranberry relish. Gorgeous and delicious. Both accompaniments were so good. A much better offering than the prior focaccia bread.

Dinner last night was at #NapaRose at the #GrandCalifornianHotel . I'd already decided that I was having the mushroom cappuccino. It was just a matter of what else I'd get.

And then I saw the vintner's menu. Uh oh. For the first time in a while, the special menu was calling to me. Now what? Well, I'd actually thought about that. I'd have the vintner's and add the soup wherever they saw fit. /1

That #MilleniumFalcon chocolate lollipop was delicious. I didn't expect it to be as creamy as it was. And I liked the little crunch balls - added some additional texture. Gonna be hard to resist from now on. #GrandCalifornianHotel #Disneyland #StarWars #magicisback #magicishere 2/2

Tried the other goodies the other night from the #GrandCalifornianHotel lobby treat cart. The #wookiee cookie was very tasty, pretty dense. I only had water with it, and it would have been better with tea or coffee. We didn't finish it so have a little left over still. #Disneyland #StarWars #magicisback #magicishere 1/2

My only caution is that because the #lightsabres handles are dipped chocolate, they do melt easily in warm weather.

I bought the #wookiee cookie but haven't tried it yet. It's very heavy so must be very dense.

I succumbed yesterday to the #StarWars treats available at the cart in the lobby of the #GrandCalifornianHotel . I'd previously been able to resist, but yesterday was not that day.

I've always wanted to try the dipped pretzels, for whatever occasion, but this time, the siren call of #lightsabres was too strong. I'm sorry to say that they were absolutely delicious. It's going to make them that much harder to resist next time. #Disneyland #magicisback #magicishere 1/2

If you can't get there that early, I would suggest arriving around 6pm at the earliest. You'll likely have to wait until seats open up. We've been going to #NapaRose since they opened in 2001 but have somehow never known that they serve dinner at the bar itself. There are only 12 seats, and they fill up quickly. For your best chance, get there by 5pm (the restaurant opens at 5:30pm), and either join or start the line in front of the door. When the door is unlocked, head to the right side to go to the bar area. Those with reservations will check in at the podium on the left. #grandcalifornianhotel #magicisback #magicishere 1/3

My main course was the goose shepherd's pie. That was so good. For being a second course offering in a smallish copper pot, there was quite a bit of goose inside.

Dinner last night was at #NapaRose . Started with the mushroom cappuccino because I was *not* going to miss out this time. Yes, it was just as delicious as I remembered.

My second course was the always yummy smiling tiger salad. We've been having this dish since it first showed up on a vintner's menu years ago. The plating has changed over the years. After our truncated dinner at #naparose at the #grandcalifornianhotel , we still wanted an additional bite to eat. I'd not seen any mention of this new dish, but a friend had it a few days prior, and it sounded good, so this was sort of my consolidation prize for the mushroom bisque that I didn't get. The husband and I shared the mushroom, vegetable and farro stew from #harbourgalley (with the understanding that I'd get more of the mushrooms). #disneyland #magicisback #magicishere

I'm bummed about the waffle shots, though, as they sort of seem just like the bottoms of an ice cream cone, the ones they call cake cones.
