Yes the possibility is becoming apparent with Dutton having a major party sounding like the fringe nationalist One Nation party from decades ago.

And the arc from John Howard to Tony Abbott to Morrison to Dutton is looking more and more like a direction that will be continued.

The article' places the roots in "failures of neoliberalism and globalism".

I doubt this is an very helpful explanation.
