A #valedictorian's speech for #medicine #grads at #University of #Manitoba that addressed the war in #Gaza is spurring reactions beyond the #convocation hall, as some students and faculty disagree on whether the message was fit for the moment.
Dr. Gem Newman delivered the 10-minute speech during a convocation ceremony for the #MaxRadyCollege of Medicine at the university's Bannatyne campus.

I enjoyed Stephen Lee's production of As You Like It at the New Fortune last night. He's such a fun director!
I'm pretty sure the production we last saw of it, back in 1999 I'm told didn't leave in the songs and cut some of the acts.
Last night's production was very fresh despite the three hours run time, and the costumes and scenery were positively Arcadian.
The players were all having a ball and had such energy, especially Anka Sagan and Grace Edwards! This is a play appealing to a modern audience, with gender questions, return to a rustic life away from the madding court crowd and identity shenanigans.Jeff Watkins played a positively Harlequinesque Jaques!
The songs, led by Rachel Doulton as Amiens were all very catchy.
Jack Boggin played Orlando, and his control of his facial expressions proved to be a mini play worth watching in itself.
All wonderful and a great immersion into Shakespeare.
10 out of 10 grand and the return of the pollywaffle on the Sid and Nancy Scale.
