I've looped back around to making Kip my #SpaceBun alt, and I think it's going to stick this time. I've been having a lot of fun taking him out to Oizys because space travel is totally his thing!

Okay! So Some shit hit the fan, Here is a little guide on anonymity and online safety as a questionable space content creator or just someone who doesn't wanna get doxed. Some tips are generic for everyone, others are a bit more specific to the FFXIV community.
Generic tips are marked with โผ while XIV are marked ยง.โผ 1. Understanding compartmentalization and isolating your Alter identity.
A lot of these tips focus on isolating your alter identity from your primary one. And that starts largely with #2 on this list which gives you a dedicated virtual "container" to house your alternate identity in and keep it isolated from bleeding over to your day-to-day life. Some might view or think this as 2 faced but the goal isn't to outright lie but to give yourself a protective barrier from being hurt.
โผ 2. Use a dedicated secondary browser.
Plenty of good options exist, but some personal suggestions based on security and fingerprinting safety would be, Libre Wolf, Floorp, & Waterfox.
Libre wolf will require you to add dedicated sites to an exclusion list to Not delete cookies from when you re-start the browser. But it has a lot of default built in tools and settings to prevent you from being tracked by sites and fingerprinted across the internet.
Floorp is a Japanese business, stability, & security focused firefox fork. Very good for most people.
Waterfox is a watered down Firefox with less AI and some better security functions.โผ 3. Password Managers!
For online quality of life, I would use bitwarden. NEVER store your passwords and logins with a browsers built-in options. It's just not a smart idea.
Ideally, Consider using an entirely off-line local manager like Keepass or some variant of Keepass. I use XC personally.
Keepass using a local file database, locked with a password and optionally a digital file acting as a virtual key. It doesn't touch the internet and is entirely local.ยง 4. Consider Trial accounts, Secondary service account, or at least Alt characters for "questionable" content creation safety.
Trial accounts are free, require time to get through story but are completely isolated from Your private/personal identity.
Same with Trials, if you have the spare money a dedicated service account is also an option, Buying the game on sale isn't too rare or difficult if the sub price is within budget.
At the very least people should use a dedicated alt for this space of content creation and activity to avoid direct links to their personal/private identity.ยง 5. Make dedicated 'sync' accounts for your Alt identity.
You can make notes of the IDs, and login info details within keepass for example.
Having completely separate ID's on sync will give another layer of protection and dissociation to your public identity. ie; keeping Kitten/smoll syncs to that Sync ID, and normie synchsells to the normal ID.
Keep in mind sync services at the very least note your IP Address, So make sure to play nice appropriately with people cause if you get banned once, you'll likely be banned again without some serious effort. VPNs, HWID changes, etc;ยง 6. Enforce a habit to manually disconnect your Sync services.
Before logging off, for example it's a good idea to kill sync plugins. You can make a macro to open all of them up at once and click them off before you hop off. This make sure if you switch characters the next day you aren't linking the same character or informing that service sync that character association.
โผ 7. Visual identity dissociation.
This is largely for Gposers of FFXIV, however I could see it applying to other services like VRChat too.
If Your private/public identity, and Alter are making content, collaborating with people, etc; You should make sure that your Public and Alter identities are visually distinct and should never crossover with one another. This includes monitoring your collabs and being mindful of who has access to your public/private, & alter appearances.
This goes for Your name and identity too. If your RedFox404 Publicly, You shouldn't be BlueFox404 for your alter identity.
And finally, this goes for how You write if You write in your posts at all.โผ 8. Images you upload, Check the metadata.
On windows you can right click any normal image and check the properties of the file going to "details" tab. Sometimes this helps but sometimes it doesn't show everything. Tools exist to extract more metadata, And also to erase/remove metadata. If you wanna be quick about it, you can remove properties and personal info and make a copy of the same image in windows.
ยง 9. Remember Harmful plugins exist.
Stalker plugins of the infamous past are still around. This is why I advise a trial account. Plugins also exist like Snappy, to swipe your mods and mcdf without your consent. This is a blessing and curse for tip 10.
โผ 10. Deus Ex Machina.
Shit hit the fan, You've been caught "red handed". What do You do?
Personally This is up to You and how well You work but accusations in this space are largely only ever proven guilty by word of the accused, Or by their silence and disappearance from the space.
Keep posting private, and public. Deny the accusations publicly, Consider asking to report yourself and taking an alter-identity break with some harsh lessons to learn, For FFXIV specifically remember people with enough time and beef can swipe your visual identity perfectly with Snappy..
Most drama bombs like this wash away in a week or two. Relax and never admit your "crimes".Have any more tips or advice? Feel free to share them.

So...hey, I have a PC and it's only 18ยฐC inside it so I'm safe to make it warmer by gaming and using a monitor, hurrah.
I had, thankfully, already managed to run Moonfire on my main character. I don't usually do events with her until I've done any blog work. That way I can chill and enjoy it better.
After previewing loads of dyes on the new shades I finally went the Metallic Ruby Red Dye for the frames, and Gunmetal Black for the lenses.
