Reading about the excess deaths so far in the UK makes me wonder if some people are pleased that the pension bill has been reduced.
At my most cynical I thought a major reason older people and seriously disabled people were originally on the list not to be admitted to hospital during the first months of Covid was because it made sense on a spreadsheet to let them die to save money.
So if they'd know about the ongoing cost to the economy of long Covid they would have made different decisions.One part of the exam to become a fast stream entrant was to decide from three options which was best. In my year it was the cost of cleaning up a contaminated island. A full clean was more than the budget, the lowest cost had the highest number of people who would die - so how much risk to people's lives was worth the expenditure.
Hint - there was no way to get the extra money to reduce deaths to zero.
Very much the way senior HMT staff are trained. -

This bill could change everything for American Creators and our Freedom of Expression, but it has gotten so little attention.
H.R. 4678 The Restoring Artistic Protection Act, introduced by Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA), would create a strong legal presumption that creative works cannot be used as evidence in federal criminal or civil cases.
It covers all creative expression, including:
• Video Games
• Comics & Animation
• Movies & TV Shows
• Books & Literature
• Visual Art & ScriptsFictional storylines, characters, dialogue, artwork, and gameplay would be presumed inadmissible. Prosecutors could only overcome this with a pretrial hearing and clear and convincing evidence that it’s directly relevant, not just character assassination.
No more treating art as confession.
This would give game devs, comic artists, animators, and filmmakers real breathing room to create bold, raw, and unfiltered content without lawsuit chill.
It currently has 21 Democrat cosponsors, but something this important needs bipartisan support and hearings in Judiciary. Similar protections have already passed in Georgia, Louisiana, and Missouri with Republican backing.
After 15+ years, Americans are tired of watching their sanitized culture wither away while other countries continue to make great works for the world to enjoy, we want to have pride in the art that our country produces, and it is high time that American creators were able to build freely and without fear again.

They all fail to understand how the USA is not going to win a #tarriffs war with the entire world, and think the isolation will actually make the #usa better.
They are so afraid of the outside world they want this, and there is no helping those folks.
We should make it a requirement to be able to write an essay before you receive #goverment retirement.

I feel stupid now. Well not stupid, disappointed I didn't realize something.
I am on #disability and have a government #phone I still have, and then I have a primary that I pay for that's better and has unlimited data, unlike the 10 gigs of 5G then throttling with the free #goverment one.
I learned I could have gotten a free tablet WITH DATA and not lose my phone, and it's better than the one I bought with half of the #donation I received for my #projects T.T
