"I don't think I posses the slightest remote idea of what love means or is. Perhaps I am simply incapable of manifesting that, if such concept even exists at all. But, then, I find myself in the middle of nowhere, alone with the dauntingly intense smell of nocturnal flower, the chilling pushing force and coldness from gusts foretelling the impending storm, whose screeching sound rips through the deafening, muffled silence... And these overwhelming shadows enveloping me, the dark fog from this storm... I can barely see the enormous silver light that's increasingly bathed in red above my head. Then I realize, I'm being watched by the only presence capable of truly seeing my being, but I'm unable to see back. I feel the ever-growing proximity, I feel like I've been unable to hear the footsteps approaching me, or the thunder-like sound of the flapping wings. My heart races, my breath shortens, I can barely stand by my feet as vertigo throws me to the ground. Is this love? Because I can feel like I'm going to be kissed very soon, and I know this will the the first and last kiss I'll ever experience, and I know it's gonna hurt me, still I'm increasingly craving for it as the chilling cold gusts touch my lips like invisible, cold lips. It is said Death isn't capable of loving... but then, why She is going to kiss me this night? Why is the only phrase I can think of upon feeling Her presence involves this four-letter word denoting a concept whose definition I was never able to conjure?"

World Goth Day

In breve: il World Goth Day nasce nel 2009 nel Regno Unito, da una serie di programmi radio dedicati alle sottoculture musicali. Da quel momento, la “provocazione creativa” di celebrare il mondo goth è diventata una festa globale.

Nel 2026 la giornata non perde il suo spirito originale, ma si arricchisce di nuove sfumature:

✨ Eventi sempre più diffusi in Europa: concerti darkwave, post-punk e gothic rock stanno crescendo in tutta la scena indipendente, anche con format più intimi e underground.
✨ Community online sempre più attiva: tra playlist collaborative, live streaming e “dark aesthetic challenges”, la celebrazione non è più solo fisica ma anche digitale.
✨ Un goth più contemporaneo: il 2026 conferma una tendenza interessante—il goth non è più solo nostalgia anni ’80, ma si mescola a moda alternativa, elettronica e perfino contaminazioni pop-art.

🖤 Non solo nero… ma identità

Il bello del World Goth Day è proprio questo: non è una “maschera”, ma un linguaggio. Un modo per dire che anche ciò che è oscuro può essere poetico, elegante e sorprendentemente leggero.

I already spent more than twelve hours on a single drawing, and I'm likely going to need a few more hours to properly finish this art.

The final art will depict a short-bearded man in formal attire (dark marine-blue pants with brown belt, dark grayish cardigan with a pair of buttons at the end of the sleeves, long tie) scared as he's held immobilized and pulled by a winged, red-haired vampiress (meant as Lilith) whose red lips are slightly opened, revealing her fangs, as she unhurriedly approaches his neck. One of her hands (both of which have long red nails, some of which are perforating the man's skin) grab him by his armpit, while her other hand "gentle" holds his bearded chin. I'm yet to decide if she's going to be portrayed with a red dress or naked. I'm also yet to decide on the environment/landscape/background, maybe the rooftop of a tall building with a parked helicopter or some multinational HQ's parking lot with expensive cars (because the art is meant to be a "the feminine primordial instinctive forces of cosmic chaos defeats the masculine artificial forces of mundane order and wealth"

Given the lack of feedback on my earlier arts with this artistic genre (Gothic fantasy with real occult leanings and taboo aspects) on Fediverse (I tried PixelFed, I tried microblogging, I tried Lemmy.world's artshare community, the only kind of art that granted me feedback was when I experimented with Star Trek and sci-fi art, but it's actually not the genre I like doing/drawing), are there proper places to freely share my art (considering how it's sometimes NSFW or close to being NSFW), alongside video time-lapses of me drawing said art, where I could get the kind of feedback I often seek with all the symbolism I ingrain within my expressions?
