Justices #ClarenceThomas & Neil #Gorsuch said they were eager to go further. The 1935 precedent, Justice Thomas wrote, “poses a direct threat to our constitutional structure &, as a result, the liberty of the American people.”

In its recent emergency orders, #SCOTUS has also signaled that it is now poised to give the president more direct #power over the multimember commissions as well.

I also maintain that all the #Trump appointed #SupremeCourt justices should also recuse themselves from a case involving #Meadows removal motion. I believe that they all have a conflict of interest, since they either have actual personal reasons not to treat efforts by #Trump, and by extension #Meadows, to overturn the election as criminal or their impartiality on the question is suspect. But I seriously doubt whether #Thomas, #Gorsuch, #Kavanaugh or #ConeyBarrett would recuse. 6/
