The wonderful Barranco de la Luna today. A short half day trip but well worth it.
The ravine features dramatic rock formations, lush vegetation, and a small, crystal-clear stream.

The trail follows the ravine, with some rocky sections and shallow river crossings - adding a sense of adventure. The highlight is the "Cañón de la Luna," a narrow canyon with towering walls that feel almost otherworldly.

Like a scene from "Lord of the Rings", today we enjoyed the spectacular delights of the Garganta de Cares gorge in the Picos de Europa. We missed breakfast and set off in the dark to catch the morning sun entering the gorge. Turned into a very warm hike which later needed copious amounts of cold beer in compensation.

An Eurasian Griffon (Gyps Fulvus) came to check if those humans are food.

More than 20 griffons were soaring in the area. Griffons disappeared from France over a century ago, but were reintroduced at the end of the 90s in the Gorges du Verdon.
