As I recall, #GordonLightfoot released a bunch of records before he became famous

Then after he hit it big his earlier recordings were spammed on the public on these “greatest hits“ albums that didn’t include any of his hits

"Sundown" is a song by Canadian #folk artist #GordonLightfoot, from the titular album, released as a single in March 1974. "Sundown" reached number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and #easyListening charts and number 13 on the #HotCountrySingles chart, as well as number one in #Canada on #RPM's #nationalSinglesChart. It was Lightfoot's only single to reach number one on the Hot 100.

"The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" is a 1976 #hitSong written, composed and performed by the Canadian singer-songwriter #GordonLightfoot to memorialize the sinking of the bulk carrier SS #EdmundFitzgerald in #LakeSuperior on November 10, 1975. Lightfoot considered this song to be his finest work. Appearing originally on his 1976 album #SummertimeDream, Lightfoot re-recorded the song in 1988 for the compilation album #GordsGoldVol2.
