If you want to believe the PM is devious, then your theory is plausible; he's an intelligent man, so it's certainly a possibility.But my theory — that we had a basic deal on Tuesday, then the PM changed his mind — is simpler, fits what Premier Kinew said, presumes good faith negotiation on our side and matches the leaks we've heard from the talks. Furthermore, the #GordieHoweBridge agreement shows the PM might accept a bad deal and then try to mislead the public.

I care because #MarkCarney misled us about the #GordieHoweBridge deal; I want to know that he's telling the truth now. And I want to know what he found acceptable in the deal from last Tuesday, and what he found unacceptable in the deal from Friday.I know how I feel about the Trump Administration and what I heard about the deal last week. But I want to know facts; I don't want to have to trust my leaders blindly.

@ChrisCorrigan But I think Premier Ford, even if he has some good ideas, isn't being strategic; witness his unhelpful comments today. Possibly he's playing too much to his electorate, or maybe he just follows his heart.
So maybe Premier Moe? I think the PM overall has been forceful in word but too conciliatory in deed (as Prof. Brodie says, it would have been wiser to let the #GordieHoweBridge sit unused than to give in). Maybe Mr. Moe is in the sweet spot of being tough but not abrasive.

It's wise not to have confidence in the Americans. But on the #GordieHoweBridge agreement, anonymous American officials were more honest about its terms than the PM was. And we haven't heard any reports about what these last minute demands were... -
We don't know what the details are of the deal to avert higher #TrumpTariffs; we can't even be sure that there will be a deal. One way or another, Prime Minister #MarkCarney will have to explain things to the public in the next week.
Canadians in general have trusted him as the one to make the best deal possible, and they'll probably give him the benefit of the doubt regarding concessions. But if he misleads us, as he did on the #GordieHoweBridge...the fury will be scorching.

Because from what I've read at https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/windsor/gordie-howe-bridge-deal-tolls-canada-trump-open-release-9.7278704 and the original agreement (main points) at https://gordiehoweinternationalbridge.com/the-canada-michigan-crossing-agreement/ it appears Michigan has been cut out of the agreement.
Why isn't this being discussed by Senate/Governor candidates?
Can't imagine Michigan GOP wants it in the news.

As a Michigander now living in Ontario, I've watched the #GordieHoweBridge situation with a lot of interest. I've read a lot of coverage about it. And I still have no fucking clue what the deal is.
Statements like this, from a former advisor to Trudeau, is a key example of why:

What the hell does that mean?

The #GlobeAndMail reports that Canada has agreed to split toll revenues after operating expenses 50-50 with the US, with no provision for us to be paid back for capital expenses as part of the operating expenses.
