  1. Okay, this may be a stupid question... but is there a way using Stylus, or another extension available to Firefox¹, that will allow me to universally force all websites I visit to use bunny fonts instead of google fonts?

I know how to change it on my own sites, and if I want to play whack a mole and craft Stylus rules for each site I visit as I do, I can do it that way... but that's a lot of constantly ongoing work. I don't have spoons for that.

I just want a way to tell my browser that if a site requests a font with a url starting with
https://fonts.googleapis.com/css to instead replace that part of the url with https://fonts.bunny.net/css and pull from there instead. In theory that seems like it would be an easy thing, in practice, I don't know what to ask no AI DuckDuckGo to get me information to allow me to implement it. Searching the expected mix of Stylus and replace google fonts with bunny fonts just gets me shit about WordPress. Which is website side, not browser side, and therefore useless to me. (Also, not using WP for anything I manage, thanks.)

¹ Look, the state of browser options is fucked. I currently find continuing to play whack a mole babysitting Firefox's settings to be easier to manage than trying to vet another browser to switch to. I am not looking for advice that requires me to switch browsers. If that's all you got, please just move on.

  2. Google Fonts meets Creative Market - new card-based layout and emotional tags fonts.google.com/

Still a work in progress, the cards/posters are i think AI-
generated and far from ideal. Is it useful, fun, or just tacky?

  3. Some time ago I have tried adding #FontsBunny fonts.bunny.net to some of my websites, to see if I could avoid some unwanted surveillance by Google via #GoogleFonts, today it looks like it is having trouble loading... has anyone experienced such issues? Any alternative suggestions for free and open font serving? (I wonder if I should just add font files to the webserver?)

  4. It just clicked.... Google Fonts is used across the web. So yet another way Google can identify your IP, user agent, and site usage etc. I'm definitely beaten to this, looks like a German court found this violated GDPR. Well. I've moved to self-hosting my fonts now, but [whilst important to note Google's font policy says they don't track you with this,] not too sure what to do on other web travails.

  5. Spotted in my Calishat Snaps: Sweetfont. From the page description: “Sweetfont helps you find the perfect Google Font by exploring axes like playfulness, elegance, and warmth on interactive XY pads.”

  6. I recently made the cut-out letter design using #GoogleFonts. Nevertheless, it turns out that certain #typefaces are of low quality due to their poor vectorization. view the picture that is attached.

  7. Started the first non-work day of the year with some yak-shaving on my website: learnt how to use local web fonts, picked one (Literata), changed some colors and removed the Google Programmable Search Engine and Google Analytics.

Webpages are now pure HTML/CSS (zero JS) and literally a few hundred bytes in size total.

Gemini 3 oficjalnie. Google otwiera nową erę AI – to nie ewolucja, to rewolucja. Mamy kompletne szczegóły

  9. Just published a case study on our site about how Ghanaian street poster lettering became a Google Font. David Abbey-Thompson's work on Ga Maamli is a brilliant example of preserving vernacular design digitally, making it worth sharing for anyone interested in how culture shapes typography.

  10. Curious if any #webdev #font folks might have insight into why my font has misaligned backticks.

It's the #Lora font and looks fine with backticks on #GoogleFonts where I downloaded it, but on my web page it just looks bad.

I have no idea where to start with debugging this particular issue. 🤨

  11. Apparently installing all Google Fonts is enough to make the GNU IMP hang for several seconds on startup, and for LibreOffice Writer to crash the first time the font menu is opened, and then noticeably slow down the computer whenever you open it again…

  12. 💬 Hallo @volla,

  13. #Samsung lets you install fonts on your phone from their Galaxy Store to use as your new primary font. Has #Google ever thought about letting #Android users tap into its vast #GoogleFonts repository to allow the same? I'd love some Literata rn for my notes and RSS feeds, honestly. fonts.google.com
