Trying out the new #Gemma4 models on my #Pixel9. Completely local, open source, multimodal, multilingual (it switched between English, Chinese and Finnish just fine). E2B works well but E4B crashes constantly on my P9. No chat history, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. #GoogleAIEdgeGallery

Google hat eine App veröffentlicht, mit der man KI-Modelle lokal herunterladen und ausführen kann. Die App namens Google AI Edge Gallery ist für Android verfügbar (bald auch für iOS). Sie ermöglicht es Nutzern, kompatible Modelle zu finden, herunterzuladen und auszuführen, die Bilder generieren, Fragen beantworten, Code schreiben und bearbeiten. Die Modelle laufen offline und benötigen keine Internetverbindung.

One of my biggest problems with #LLM is that they normally run in the #cloud. I don't want to share all my questions and thoughts, especially with a company under USA jurisdiction (the EU is quite a bit more concerned about protecting my privacy).
Today I installed #googleaiedgegallery Now I am running a #gemma3 model with 3 GB locally on my 4 years old Pixel 6 smartphone. And I am thrilled!
It's still beta software, but relatively easy to install:
