Just submitted my application for access to production in Google Play Console for TigerDine!

Once Google (hopefully) accepts my application, TigerDine for Android will be widely available on the Play Store. From here I'll be working on some polish, and then I'll also look into setting up alternate distribution methods for people who prefer to avoid the Play Store. I will still be using my Play-signed APKs so that they'll work past September.

Google Play System Update (June 2026) rolls out for Samsung devices

Google Play System Update was a feature that was introduced for devices that ship with Android 10 or newer. It’s mandatory for device manufacturers that plan to release their devices with Android 10 to support Google Play System Updates. As a result, non-Google devices, such as Samsung Galaxy phones and tablets released with Android 10 (One UI 2.1), can receive such updates, too.

These updates don’t require security updates from the manufacturer to work, as Project Mainline modules work independently to give you better experience with Android phones and tablets.

On June 30th, a new Google Play System Update has been pushed to Samsung devices. This update upgrades your Project Mainline modules to the June 1st, 2026 version. This update weighs around 70 MB.

To be able to get this version, follow these steps:

1. Go to your device’s settings
2. Open the security settings
3. Find “Google Play System Update” and tap on it
4. If everything goes OK, you should see the below update dialog:

Click on Download and Install, wait for it to download, then reboot your device by clicking on the blue Restart button. The next time your device boots up, the revised update gets installed, so it’s going to take about 3 minutes maximum to install all the updates.

There is no progress bar, so don’t panic if it looks stuck. Your device will eventually boot up. Now, open your settings app and check your Google Play System Update. If everything is well, you should see June 1st, 2026 below the appropriate button.

In case your device didn’t receive the update, wait for a few days, and it will be available shortly.

Je suppose qu'il y a une justification pour sécuriser les comptes développeurs, c'est un peu compréhensible, mais franchement, nous demander de retrouver l'ID de transaction de paiement de notre inscription au programme développeur de Google Play pour pouvoir supprimer une application, c'est pas un peu pousser le bouchon au delà du cochonnet ?

Heureusement Google garde tout sur des décades, donc ça se trouve péniblement du côté de Google Merchant, mais franchement, ça motive à ne plus créer d'application pour des tests, des démos ou des formations...

Problemas con Netvue: cuando el “error de red” no está en tu conexión

Las cámaras Netvue son conocidas por su bajo precio y una excelente relación calidad‑precio, pero sin su aplicación oficial no pueden funcionar, como ha quedado demostrado esta semana. La app de Netvue en la App Store se presenta como la herramienta necesaria para ver cámaras y timbres en directo desde un iPhone o iPad, ofreciendo un hardware competente a un coste razonable y sin cuotas mensuales.

Sin embargo, durante esta semana muchos usuarios de cámaras Netvue se han encontrado con un problema desconcertante: al abrir la aplicación móvil, tanto en Android como en iOS, aparecía un mensaje de “error de red” o fallo de conexión, impidiendo acceder a sus dispositivos.

Lo más confuso del caso es que, aparentemente, el mensaje apuntaba a un problema local: la red WiFi, los datos móviles, el router, el teléfono o incluso la propia cámara. Sin embargo, en muchos casos nada de eso era cierto. La conexión a Internet funcionaba correctamente, otras aplicaciones cargaban sin problemas y las cámaras seguían siendo accesibles desde la web.

No siempre que una app dice “error de red” el problema es tu red

Cuando una aplicación muestra un aviso de “error de red”, lo primero que solemos hacer es comprobar lo más evidente: cambiar de WiFi a datos móviles, reiniciar el router, cerrar y abrir la app, reiniciar el teléfono o probar desde otro dispositivo.

En este caso, sin embargo, el fallo se reproducía tanto en Android como en iPhone. Además, al intentar acceder desde la web de Netvue sí era posible llegar al servicio, lo que dejaba bastante claro que no se trataba de un problema de conexión doméstica ni de cobertura móvil.

El mensaje, por tanto, era engañoso: la app indicaba un problema de red, pero el origen parecía estar en la propia aplicación móvil o en los servicios que utiliza para autenticar y cargar las cámaras.

Reinstalar la app no solucionaba el problema

Una de las recomendaciones que más se repetía era desinstalar la aplicación Netvue y volver a instalarla desde Google Play o desde la App Store.

En condiciones normales, este tipo de acción puede resolver errores de caché, sesiones corruptas o problemas puntuales de actualización. Pero en esta ocasión no solo no solucionaba nada, sino que podía empeorar la situación.

Al reinstalar la aplicación, el usuario tenía que iniciar sesión de nuevo. Y precisamente ahí aparecía otro problema: la app ya ni siquiera permitía guardar o validar correctamente las credenciales, mostrando de nuevo el mismo error de red.

Es decir, quienes todavía tenían la sesión iniciada podían encontrarse con una app que no cargaba bien, pero quienes desinstalaban y reinstalaban podían quedarse directamente sin posibilidad de acceder desde el móvil.

Borrar la caché de Google Play tampoco servía

Otra posible solución que se suele recomendar en Android es borrar la caché de Google Play, de los servicios de Google o incluso de la propia aplicación.

Pero tampoco era una solución efectiva para este caso. Si el problema está en los servidores de autenticación, en la comunicación entre la app y el servicio, o en una incidencia general de la plataforma, borrar cachés locales no arregla nada.

En otras palabras: cuando el fallo es externo al teléfono, insistir en limpiar datos, reinstalar o cambiar ajustes puede hacer perder tiempo sin aportar una solución real.

La solución práctica: entrar desde la web de Netvue

Lo más importante es que, si el problema se repite, hay una alternativa que sí puede funcionar: acceder desde el navegador web, no desde la aplicación móvil.

Una vez iniciada la sesión en la web de Netvue, las cámaras pueden visualizarse desde la siguiente dirección: https://my.netvue.com/es/devices/live

Desde ahí, tras validarse con la cuenta correspondiente, es posible ver las cámaras en vivo sin depender de la app móvil.

Esta solución no corrige la aplicación, pero permite recuperar el acceso a las cámaras mientras Netvue resuelve la incidencia en sus servicios o en sus aplicaciones móviles.

Qué conviene hacer si vuelve a ocurrir

Si en el futuro la app de Netvue vuelve a mostrar un error de red, conviene seguir un orden lógico antes de desinstalar nada:

1. Comprobar que Internet funciona abriendo otras webs o aplicaciones.
2. Probar con WiFi y con datos móviles.
3. Verificar si el fallo ocurre también en otro teléfono.
4. Intentar acceder desde la web de Netvue.
5. Evitar desinstalar la app si todavía mantiene la sesión iniciada.
6. Esperar a que el servicio vuelva a funcionar o a que Netvue publique una actualización.

La recomendación más importante es no precipitarse con la desinstalación. Si el problema está en la app o en los servidores, reinstalar puede dejar al usuario sin sesión y sin posibilidad de volver a entrar hasta que se resuelva la incidencia.

Conclusión

El fallo de Netvue de esta semana es un buen ejemplo de cómo un mensaje de error mal planteado puede llevar al usuario a buscar el problema donde no está.

Aunque la aplicación mostraba un “error de red”, en muchos casos la conexión del usuario funcionaba perfectamente. El problema parecía estar relacionado con la propia app o con los servicios de Netvue, ya que afectaba tanto a Android como a iOS y no se resolvía reinstalando la aplicación ni borrando cachés.

La solución más efectiva, al menos mientras duraba la incidencia, era acceder directamente desde la web:https://my.netvue.com/es/devices/live

Por tanto, si vuelve a ocurrir, antes de desinstalar la app o modificar la configuración de red, merece la pena probar primero el acceso web. Puede ahorrar bastante tiempo y evitar quedarse bloqueado sin poder iniciar sesión desde el móvil.
