I'm looking at a free tier to test it out, but if I am satisfied with the performance I might eventually use it instead of #GoogleDrive (and switch to paid tiers).

I think I may have asked this before, but does anyone know of a way to access shared Google Drive folders directly from Finder on macOS without having to open the Google Drive web interface? I’m specifically looking for a way to browse and work with shared folders as if they were regular folders in Finder.
The only workaround I know of right now is adding a shortcut to the shared folder, which I usually do through the Google Drive app on my phone. Once I do that, it shows up in Finder. I’m wondering if there’s a better or more direct way to access shared folders.

The artist's appeal was rejected. An algorithm decided that an artist's work was a violation.
And they didn't just lose Drive. Gmail, YouTube, every service.. gone!

Oficjalny komentarz Google: to tylko testy bezpieczeństwa
Ślady przygotowań do tej operacji odkryto w kodzie stron pomocy technicznej oraz archiwach Internet Archive Wayback Machine. W marcu 2026 roku gigant potajemnie zmienił kluczowe zdanie w swoim regulaminie. Dotychczasowa formuła „Twoje konto Google oferuje 15 GB bezpłatnej przestrzeni dyskowej” została zastąpiona zwrotem „Twoje konto Google oferuje do 15 GB bezpłatnej przestrzeni”.

„Testujemy nową politykę przechowywania danych dla nowych kont tworzonych w wybranych regionach. Pomoże nam to nadal zapewniać wysoką jakość usług dyskowych dla naszych użytkowników, jednocześnie zachęcając ich do poprawy bezpieczeństwa konta oraz skuteczniejszego odzyskiwania danych”.

W praktyce mechanizm działa jak cyfrowy szantaż. Podczas procesu rejestracji nowego konta (np. z poziomu komputera lub nowego smartfona bez karty SIM), system wyświetla komunikat informujący, że użytkownik otrzymuje bazowe 5 GB. Pod oknem pojawiają się dwa przyciski: „Zatrzymaj 5 GB” lub „Odblokuj 15 GB bez żadnych kosztów za pomocą swojego numeru telefonu”.

Osoby, które z racji dbałości o prywatność zdecydują się pominąć krok z podawaniem numeru telefonu podczas rejestracji, będą mogły zrobić to w późniejszym terminie w ustawieniach bezpieczeństwa profilu – dopiero wtedy ich licznik przestrzeni chmurowej zostanie podniesiony do tradycyjnych 15 GB.
