Time to show off some more #Goodyearwelt shoes. It'd be nice if the #Fediverse could have a more active #boots community, as #Reddit had.
These desert boots are from a German brand producing #eco shoes: #EKN. The leather is nice and thick and the soles are comfy. You can even order replacement soles on their website!
I think they're quite stylish and they fit nicely with many of my outfits.

It's weekend, and that means it's time to show off more Goodyear welted shoes! Here's some classics: my Iron Rangers from #RedWing. Work boots, though I've done some modest #hiking in them, too.
Here's a fun clip of a pair of them being cut open, to see what's inside: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9hVqX-0X8c

The character limit sure is a challenge sometimes, but having a succinct post is also a good thing.
I wish the #goodyearwelt community here was as lively as on Reddit, but the way to make things happen here is to be the change you want to see in the world, so here we go! I have plenty more goodyear welted shoes and boots, so I'll coin #gywweekend to show them off and hopefully add some activity here and on the Lemmy community [email protected].

My new-to-me #Meindl Perfekt #hiking boots. Changed laces after I saw the pretty examples here: https://www.magazin-zuerich.ch/vollleder-wanderschuhe-von-meindl (The red-laced ones are Super Perfekt boots, but 🤷)
Used to frequent /r/goodyearwelt, but #Reddit today is... Well. Did learn a thing or two about #boots and #shoes. A Goodyear welt is recognizable by the stitching around the sole, and makes it possible to replace them. Lengthening the life of your boots!

New heels and new (lavender) laces for the old shoes, plus a lot of conditioning and a little bit of polish.
These are about 15 years old, and having been well exposed to Nfld salty slush puddles, have a few dried/cracked areas around the welt, some scarring on the toe caps.
Cleaned up well though I think, good enough at least for some wedding/conference duty.
They are Loake 1880 Alydwitch Oxfords, my first pair of decentish shoes, still going strong.
